A perfect heaven. A world apart.
Once the residence of a noble family, the Villa nestles in sixty acres of fields, forest and hills with spectacular views.
Villa Bertagni has been restored with unique qualities that defy easy description: Passing the pool, fountain and eighteenth century grotto with a baroque style garden leading into the Villa with a grand Baronian Hall. 28 columns and arches form a gallery surrounding the ground and first floor, with mellow light filtering through a frosted glass ceiling embraced in wrought iron giving a feeling of sheer opulence and magical spell of extraordinary tranquility.
History
In its prime, the Estate was totally self sufficient, with farmhouses used for making cheese, honey, a trout farm, animal storage and vineyards. It is said that the Villa was built on solid, granite rock where there was once a house dating back to Roman times. All set amidst the "Apuane Alpe" nature park famous for their funghi porcini and wild game in the autumn months.
